At the University Business Academy in Novi Sad, on September 6, 2017, we had a wonderful opportunity to attend a round table held on the topic: "How to be a successful athlete and a student at the same time?" where Marko Simonović, our celebrated basketball player and a new student at the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management was a special guest.

The round table was attended by students of the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad and the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management, President of the University Council, Prof. Marijana Carić, PhD, University Rector, Prof. Mirko Kulić, Ph.D. and our Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Marko Carić, Ph.D.

The students had the opportunity to meet the famous basketball player and hear him speak on the topic: "How to be a successful athlete and a university student at the same time". Simonović stressed that, just like students, athletes also need education and training in all areas throughout their lives, because their professional sports careers are relatively short, and once their careers of professional athletes are over, it is necessary to face the challenge of a new beginning.

Prof. Marijana Carić, as a former athlete, noted that sport perfectly educates the young, in the sense that it helps them build and strengthen their character. Persistence, dedication and competitive spirit are just some of the features that athletes must possess, and these are much needed in every career.

Rector of the University, Prof. Mirko Kulić, expressed his deep satisfaction that he was given the opportunity to present the new student, Marko Simonović, with a student’s record book. Finally, Prof. Kulić wished our athlete much success during studies and to complete all course requirements within the designated time.
