NEW JEAN MONNET MODULE AT THE UNIVERSITY BUSINESS ACADEMY IN NOVI SAD: “EUROPEAN SUSTAINABLE VALUES IN ENVIRONMENTAL AND AGRICULTURAL POLICIES”
The European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) has approved funding for the new Jean Monnet module titled: “European Sustainable Values in Environmental and Agricultural Policies” at the University Business Academy in Novi Sad. As part of this module, specialist courses and educational events will be organized for students, researchers, professionals, policymakers, non-governmental organizations, and agricultural producers, alongside the creation of new academic publications.
The new Jean Monnet module includes educational and research activities focused on examining the current model of the European Union’s environmental and agricultural policies. This initiative builds upon the outcomes of previous Jean Monnet modules, including “Serbia’s Accession to the EU,” “Application of EU Values in the Policies of Candidate States,” and “European Sustainable Values in the Common Agricultural Policy,” which is currently ongoing.
By studying the EU’s approach to environmental protection and agriculture, as well as its sustainable ecological, agricultural, economic, social, and societal values, this module aims to foster understanding of Serbia's future obligations stemming from the opening of Chapter 27 (Environment and Climate Change) and Chapter 11 (Agriculture and Rural Development). The module aspires to promote excellence in teaching and research while enhancing the quality of the existing undergraduate and master’s programs in European Union studies at the University. The project team includes Prof. Dr. Jelena Vapa Tankosić (project leader), Prof. Dr. Vladimir Medović, and Prof. Dr. Radivoj Prodanović.
