On Saturday, 26 March 2016, an important meeting was held in the ceremonial hall of the University Business Academy between the representatives of our University and Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management on the one hand, and Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences from Sarajevo.

Namely, the meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Marijana Carić, President of the Council of the University Business Academy, Prof. Dr. Dragan Soleša, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management and Prof. Dr. Zlatan Sarić, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences, University of Sarajevo. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Spasenija Milanović from the Faculty of Technology, University of Novi Sad.

At the beginning of the meeting the guests were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Marijana Carić and Prof. Dr. Dragan Soleša, and then the guests were informed of all the activities carried out at the University and the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management. Prof. Carić and Prof. Soleša talked extensively about the programs of study we offer, quality of the teaching process, scientific research, our domestic and international projects and partners, cooperation with other higher education institutions in the country and abroad, as well as accreditation and cooperation with the Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance and the National Council.

After their speeches, Prof. Dr Zlatan Sarić presented the work of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences, University of Sarajevo. Prof. Sarić also spoke about the changes in higher education in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly relating to the growing tendency of young people to opt for engineering professions these days and the numerous opportunities that arise in interdisciplinary sciences. Furthermore, Prof. Sarić emphasized the fact that there is an evident saturation of the academic labor market with graduates in the field of humanities and the need for their faculty to become more market-oriented and thus satisfy not only the needs of the emerging markets, but also to provide a long-term developmental perspective with respect to public and private HE institutions alike.

The main item on the agenda was related primarily to the possibility of cooperation between our two universities and faculties, primarily regarding participation in joint projects and various other forms of cooperation, such as: scientific/research, bilateral, development projects, but also cooperation related to the exchange of students and teaching staff, and cooperation on joint programs and activities related to raising the quality of teaching and work at the university in general.

After the meeting, the guests were given a little tour of our Faculty, when our representatives showed them our study halls, classrooms, a computer lab, laboratories, as well as teacher/administration offices. Thanks to this meeting which was held at our Faculty, we are happy to say that all the necessary conditions have been met for the signing of cooperation agreements.
