The first official meeting of partners of the Regional Center of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development in Vojvodina (RCE Vojvodina) was held on 21 November 2016 at the University Business Academy in Novi Sad.

The aim of this event was to establish mechanisms of active communication among partners of the RCE Vojvodina network, and present to the broader public the organizational structure of the newly established institution, as well as it planned course of action and upcoming activities.

This first founding meeting of RCE Vojvodina was attended by 16 partners i.e. representatives of the government, academia, business and civil sector who have recognized the importance of this network and have given support to its establishing.

On behalf of the host, Prof. Mirko Kulić Ph.D., Rector of the University Business Academy in Novi Sad, welcomed the participants and then gave word to Prof. Milan Počuča Ph.D., CEO of RCE Vojvodina and Marko Savic, Project Manager in RCE Vojvodina. Prof. Počuča and Mr. Savić noted that the next important step in the RCE Vojvodina’s course of action is the organization of the Electoral Assembly in mid-February 2017, so that all members can get actively involved in work towards the fulfillment of objectives and programs which contribute to sustainable development in this part of our country and thus help the work, operation and management of this network.

It was suggested at the meeting that working groups get established for the following purposes: innovation, technology and energy, environmental education and green schools, corporate social responsibility and philanthropy, promotion and the media and prevention of dental diseases.

As a reminder, RCE Vojvodina received the accreditation of the United Nations University on 2 September 2016, as the first such center in this part of Europe, while the University Business Academy in Novi Sad, as the initiator of RCE Vojvodina and one of the leading higher education institutions on the territory of AP Vojvodina, has been appointed the role of Executive Secretary of the said network.
