
Rector Of The University Business Academy In Novi Sad Attends A Round Table Organized By “Konus”
The Conference of Serbian Universities – KONUS, being the coordinator of the TEMPUS project called “RODOS”, organized a round table on November 17, 2016 in the Rectorate building of the University of Belgrade. The topic of the round table was: Standards for establishing doctoral schools in Serbia and it was organized within the framework of the TEMPUS project entitled “Restructuring of Doctoral Studies in Serbia – RODOS”.
Prof. Mirko Kulić, Rector of the University Business Academy in Novi Sad, attended the session of the round table, together with other members of the Conference of University Rectors of Serbia, as well as representatives of key national institutions of higher education and science: The Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Council for Higher Education, the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development, the Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance, the Accreditation Committee for Research and Science, the Association of Institutes of Serbia, the Expert Team for the reform of higher education and partner institutions on the project called “RODOS”.
The TEMPUS project entitled “Restructuring of Doctoral Studies in Serbia – RODOS” is a three-year project funded by the European Union through the TEMPUS program, where partners are key national institutions of science and higher education (The Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences, The National Council for Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development), The Serbian Chamber of Commerce, The Electrical Power Industry of Serbia, Association of PhD students and young researchers, as well as representatives of eight Serbian universities and four leading EU universities.
The project deals with one of the acute problems of Serbian higher education: the harmonization of doctoral programs with the needs of academia and science, industry and economy, as well as the public sector, in the context of the current strategic orientation of the Serbian society. The wider objective of this structural project is the restructuring of doctoral studies in Serbia in accordance with the Bologna process and the Salzburg principles, emphasizing the quality of research and integrative processes involving universities, research institutes, industry and the public sector.
