
PROF. LAZAR OŽEGOVIĆ ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL FOR SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP OF AP VOJVODINA
The constitutive session of the Council for Social Entrepreneurship of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina was held on April 12, 2018 in Novi Sad, and our professor from the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management in Novi Sad, Dr. Lazar Ožegović, was elected President of the Council. This working body has been established as part of the Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism and its main goals and priorities have been clearly outlined during the meeting.
Prof. Lazar Ožegović, as the chairperson, emphasized the importance of social economy and social entrepreneurship in the overall development of human society. He further stressed that the Council should in the coming period analyze the situation in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, and try to identify key problems and bring forward development proposals, as well as the measures and activities which will encourage the opening of social enterprises in AP Vojvodina.
Mr. Pavle Počuč, Deputy Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism, emphasized that social entrepreneurship is a model of development that contributes in a creative and inclusive way to the development of entrepreneurial initiatives, and that the activities of the Council should be directed towards education and dissemination of information to all economic entities so as to foster and promote this type of entrepreneurship as a socially responsible and economically efficient business model.
Representatives of various business enterprises , the Union of Employers of Vojvodina and the non-governmental sector also took part in the work of the Council.
