The Faculty of Contemporary Arts in Belgrade has received a great recognition. Faculty Dean, university professor and fine artist Saša M. Filipović, Assistant Professor Maja Vukadinović Ph.D., a culturologist, publicist and journalist, and a doctoral student in visual arts, Ms. Radmila Lizdek, are this year's laureates who were awarded the "Golden badge", as a special recognition awarded each year by the Cultural and Educational Organization of Serbia.

The awards were presented to them at a ceremony held on May 15, 2018 at the “Raša Plaović Scene“ of the National Theater in Belgrade.

The Cultural and Educational Organization of Serbia, as a cultural institution of national significance celebrating 62 years of existence, has awarded this award for the 43rd time for "committed and continuous efforts and creative contribution to the spread of culture". The whole event has been organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and the Serbs in the region, and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Information.

By unanimous decision of the jury consisting of: prof. Milovan Vitezović (writer and president of the jury), Marija Bišof (writer and professor), Dr. Uroš Dojčinović (professor and musician), Olga Milojević (cultural manager) and prof. Slavenko Saletovic (film director) fifty-three artists, scientists/researchers and cultural professionals from Serbia and diaspora have been awarded. The award consists of a gold-plated badge and an honorary certificate.

The winners come from different parts of the world, but are all united in their creativity, devotion to preserving cultural heritage and love for their country. They all share a common goal and efforts in preserving the cultural and spiritual heritage of all Serbs, wherever they live and create. This prestigious recognition is supposed to contribute to bringing the motherland and the diaspora closer together, through the network of our diplomatic and consular missions.

Obviously, the so-called "Golden Badge" is shining on many continents this year, in a number of renowned institutions in world metropolises, one of which is undoubtedly - the Faculty of Contemporary Arts in Belgrade.
